• Being motivated to make your family proud
• It’s critical to set expectations early on
• Healthy pressure can be good
• You work very hard when your name is on the sign
• Don’t create jobs for family; invite them to fill a needed position
• It’s a challenge to work with your family, but it also has great rewards
• It is hard to leave things at the office; work at it every day
• You have to navigate the negative feelings as well
• In order to have a successful succession you must be open to input from the next generation
